Oyster Dome
Located just South of Bellingham off Chuckanut Drive along the beautiful Bellingham Bay. Oyster Dome is 6.5 miles long to the top and 3.8 miles to the lookout point and climbs from 160 ft to 2,025 ft high. Oyster Dome is the most advanced hike out of the three mentioned on this site. It makes a great day trip with good food, friends and nature. Oyster dome has one of the best views of any hike in Bellingham, especially if you are to hike early in the morning before sunrise or right before sunset. Oyster Dome is a great hike for all ages and is open to the general public from dusk till dawn.
Oyster dome is also a great place to climb, as it does consist of many rock faces. The different climbs rank from easy difficulty to 5.13 in difficulty. Make sure you bring proper safety equipment as there are often checks. If you are found without proper safety gear you will be asked to leave.
